Tool cocreated by IIS executive director wins Ebbe Nielsen Challenge Award

Rafael Loyola, IIS executive director, colaborated with the development of an R package for standardising, integrating, and cleaning biodiversity data called Biodiversity Data Cleaning (bdc). The initiative was awarded first place in the Ebbe Nielsen Challenge 2022 by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). The bdc package integrates available tools with new ones to assess the quality of different dimensions of biodiversity data in a single and flexible toolkit.
