Fernando Resende
Project Technical Coordinator
Biologist, with a master's degree in Ecology and Conservation from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a PhD in Ecology and Evolution from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). He completed part of his doctorate at Laval University (Canada) and did postdoctoral work at UFG and UFMG. He has experience in modeling ecosystem services and biodiversity, effects of land use change, systematic planning for conservation and evaluating the effectiveness of environmental policies.
In recent years, he has worked on projects for non-governmental organizations (FBDS and TNC), the private sector (Santos Lab/Salva) and the government (ICMBio).
He works as a researcher at the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS), developing products and solutions focused on restoration, conservation and land use.
