COP30: IIS to host the House of Restoration in the Blue Zone

From 10 to 21 November, COP30 will take place for the first time in the Amazon – in Belém, Pará, Brazil. This historic milestone reinforces the central role of forests in the global response to the climate crisis. This year, the IIS will host the House of Restoration, a space located in the Blue Zone dedicated to connecting science, policy and action around ecological restoration and Nature-based Solutions.

The pavilion will host panels, debates and workshops on strategic themes – from climate mitigation and adaptation to land-use planning, covering biodiversity, ecosystem services, bioeconomy, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.

During the event, the IIS will launch an unprecedented programme designed to unlock large-scale restoration through science and technology, consolidating its role in bridging scientific knowledge and practical solutions for sustainable development.

The IIS’s presence at COP30 also marks the institution’s 15th anniversary, with a special programme throughout the event.

The House of Restoration is an initiative led by the IIS, with the support of Instituto Itaúsa and Instituto Arapyaú.
