IIS presents results of project supported by Bezos Earth Fund at event in Manaus

IIS took part in the Amazon Grantee Meeting, an event organised by the Bezos Earth Fund in Manaus (AM) between 10 and 12 March. The meeting brought together teams and partners supported by the fund with the aim of sharing progress, fostering technical exchange, and updating funders on the status of ongoing initiatives.

Representing the IIS were Bernardo Strassburg, Executive Director of Science; Tatiana Botelho, Strategic Coordinator; and Aline Rodrigues, Lead for Nature-based Solutions.

During the event, the institute presented the main results achieved in the first year of the project “Facilitating the expansion of Assisted Natural Regeneration in Brazilian ecosystems”, which has a total duration of two years and is funded by the Bezos Earth Fund.

The initiative aims to strengthen the expansion of assisted natural regeneration as a strategy for restoring forest ecosystems in Brazil, contributing to nature-based solutions and to tackling climate change.
