Danielle Vilela

Data Science Analyst

Danielle Vilela holds a degree in Biological Sciences with a specialisation in Ecology from UFRJ and a postgraduate qualification in Environment (MBE) from COPPE/UFRJ. She is currently a master’s student on the ProfAgua programme at UERJ (2025). With over a decade of experience, she has worked in GIS analysis and environmental management on large infrastructure projects and in consultancy roles. In her most recent professional experience, she implemented alert systems for wildfires and extreme weather events, and optimised the monitoring of extensive transmission lines across the national territory. Her expertise includes conducting environmental studies and analyses, preparing reports, and managing programmes across all phases of environmental licensing. In the Sustainable Development sector, she has worked as a consultant on a project supporting the implementation of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). In this project, she developed Remote Sensing analyses to determine land use and land cover, Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) and the hydrographic network for the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes. Danielle has strong skills in spatial analysis, digital cartography, remote sensing and environmental modelling. She works with geoprocessing tools and programming languages.
