Stéphanie Vaz
Sustentability Analyst
Stephanie holds a degree in Biology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a Master’s degree from the National Museum (MNRJ/UFRJ), and a PhD in Ecology from UFRJ, with part of her training in Biogeography and Climate Change at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN/CSIC) in Spain. Her expertise includes investigating biodiversity knowledge and data gaps, assessing human impacts on wildlife, and conducting studies on biodiversity conservation.
She has experience in urban ecosystem services, particularly in assessing adaptation to extreme hydrological events, with a focus on Nature-based Solutions and Ecological Restoration as strategies to reduce the impacts of climate change on people.
Over the years, she has carried out extensive fieldwork to collect empirical data, systematised public databases and modelled predictive scenarios to identify critical areas for biodiversity and human well-being. Her motivation is to work for the environment through a path that promotes biodiversity conservation and a sustainable future for all generations.
