Vinicius Farjalla

Technical Manager

Vinicius holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and he is a professor in the Department of Ecology at UFRJ. He is a level 1B research productivity grantee from CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and a Rio de Janeiro State scientist from FAPERJ (Rio de Janeiro Research Foundation). He is the author of over 100 scientific publications, has supervised more than 25 master's dissertations and doctoral theses, and has been repeatedly recognized as a distinguished professor by graduates of the Biological Sciences program. He has served as department head, graduate program coordinator, and vice-director at UFRJ.

Vinicius has extensive experience in team coordination, securing public and private funding, and managing research and development projects in the environmental field in Brazil. Internationally, he coordinates and participates in projects with institutions from dozens of countries. Currently, he is the lead author of the 7th Global Environment Outlook Report (UNEP-UN).
