Golden Lion Tamarin Association and IIS sign Cooperation Agreement

The International Institute for Sustainability (IIS) and the Golden Lion Tamarin Association (Associação MIco-Leão-Dourado – AMLD) signed, on May 16th, the Cooperation Agreement to develop projects related to nature conservation and sustainable development. The AMLD has the mission to promote the conservation of the Atlantic Forest in coastal lowlands of the state of Rio de Janeiro, including its characteristic fauna, particularly the golden lion tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia).

The next steps of the agreement include the definition of terms of reference. “We are delighted with this new partnership, which will bring benefits to both sides,” said Agnieszka Latawiec, Research Director at IIS.
