The Business Case for a more sustainable cattle ranching

This document intends to draw a complete panorama of the economic performance and optimization of the land use in livestock farms in the state of Mato Grosso (MT), and the impacts of intensification strategies, crop-pasture integration with restoration opportunities and forest code adequacy, without which it is not possible to achieve legality, nor natural resources resilience, so dear to the activity. Therefore, it aims at offering an instrument for decision-making support of producers towards an improved livestock, but also, to foment public policies sensitive to the theme. The instrument offered here is the Bio economic Model, developed as a system capable of conjugating economic and environmental analysis, applicable at farm levels, whose impacts might reverberate through the whole value chain.
