Collaborating Researcher

Daniela Neves is a civil engineer with a professional master’s degree in Sustainability Science from PUC-Rio. With a focus on sustainable development, she is dedicated to research in Nature-based Solutions (NbS), public policy, and resilient cities. She currently manages the LUVAS Project – Living Laboratory for Environmental Education and Sustainability, affiliated with the Institute of Nature at PUC-Rio, where she coordinates partnerships, territorial initiatives, and the monitoring of the socio-environmental impact of actions in the Rainha River basin. She is also the curator and host of the videocast “Planetary Optimism.” At the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS), she works on research and projects aimed at promoting a low-carbon economy in Brazil, producing syntheses to provide technical support for potential synergies between the private sector and civil society in areas such as climate, agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and conservation.

With a keen interest in the intersection of neuroscience, decision-making, and climate change, Daniela will further explore this theme in her doctoral research, examining how more effective decisions can drive stronger climate action.
