Clarice Borges Matos

A biologist, Clarice holds a master's and a doctorate in Ecology from the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA) and the University of São Paulo (USP), respectively. She completed a postgraduate degree in Biodiversity Management and Conservation at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and is currently completing her postdoctoral studies at USP, with an exchange program at the University of Queensland (Australia).
She has extensive academic and environmental consulting experience, working as a specialist in mammals, landscape ecology, environmental impact and compensation studies, and biodiversity offsets, and in studies to bring science, public policies, and companies closer together. She has also worked in technical project management and other applied ecology mechanisms.
At IIS, Clarice works as a specialist in biodiversity offsets, ecological equivalence, and related metrics, seeking to influence business practices to increase the effectiveness of offsets and achieve current global environmental goals.
