Political, social, and economic research of soil ecosystem services to support smallholders while restoring Brazilian Atlantic Forest

The book “Restoration of Forest Landscapes and Social Opportunities in the Tropical World“ presents an interdisciplinary approach as a key element in Restoration of Forest Landscapes (RPF) projects. IIS researchers are authors of the chapter “Political, social, and economic research of soil ecosystem services to support smallholders while restoring Brazilian Atlantic Forest”, which presents how ecosystem services of the soil have been constituted in the public policies of Brazil and also brings two case studies about small farmers, which expand the services provided by the soil through the use of sustainable tools and actions to recover the Brazilian forest.
